The French-Senegalese visual artist and photographer, Delphine Diallo, now lives in Brooklyn, New York. As a graduate of the Académie Charpentier in Paris, she worked as a graphic designer and artistic director before turning to the photographic medium. Supported by the famous artist Peter Beard, Delphine Diallo becomes his assistant on the 2009 Pirelli calendar. She has been exhibited many times in the United States and signed her first solo show in France in Arles in 2018. Using digital, film, collage, illustration and 3D printing, the author sees art “as an access to enlightenment, wisdom, fear, beauty, ugliness, mystery, faith, strength and fearlessness”. At the heart of her works? Black women, whom she wishes to represent “with dignity, elegance and integrity”.
