SECTION : MILITANT IMAGES
After first graduating in art from the University of Timisoara, the Romanian photographer Pusha Petrov (born in 1984) pursued her studies at the Ecole supérieure d’Art de Lorraine in Metz. The artist is fascinated by photography and installation and she constructs series of images centred around everyday objects which she captures from singular angles. In 2012 Petrov was chosen for a residency at the Romanian Cultural Institute in Paris where she created works on the materialisation of beliefs in private space. Exhibited in France (Belfort, Metz, Nancy and Paris) and in Romania, the photographer continues to develop her work in residencies and workshops (Residence Cité internationale des arts, in Paris, in 2018-2019 and Residence Kunsthalle Mulhouse, as part of the France Romania ‘season’ in 2019).
